New Scale is pleased to announce these internal staff promotions that enhance our organization’s effectiveness and support the next stage of product development and growth.
By expanding the leadership bench, New Scale Technologies is positioning the company to pursue significant growth opportunities, such as:
- Accelerated product development in micro motion and automation systems in support of OEM needs, ranging from beam steering to fiber positioning
- Faster production ramp-up, such as micro positioning systems for the ViaSpec astronomy project
- Launching new micromanipulator products for neuroscience research for the Allen Institute
- Hiring to expand its global sales team and other key roles
Promotions include:
Stefan Friedrich is promoted from Director of Marketing to VP of Sales and Marketing. Stefan reports to the CEO and joined the company in 2016. He leads our global sales and marketing efforts including our team of in-house salespeople, administrators, contractors, and distributors. Stefan has demonstrated the ability to effectively manage our world-side sales network including renewing and expanding our relationship with high-profile distributor such as Digi-Key. In addition, he has increased lead-generation using targeted email campaigns, multi-media content creation, and more effective promotion and attendance at major tradeshows.
Qin Xu is promoted from VP Engineering to Chief Technical Officer. Since 2005, Qin has invented, developed, and commercialized many of New Scale’s products. He has a deep knowledge of New Scale’s core technical capabilities. In the new role of CTO, Qin reports to the CEO and is responsible for ensuring our technical competencies are embedded in all products and processes and we deliver the highest performance to New Scale’s customers.
Michael DiRisio is promoted from Program Manager to Engineering Manager. Michael reports to the Chief Operating Officer and leads our team of electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and software engineers to complete both customer-funded programs and internal development projects. As Program Manager for New Scale Robotics, he has already demonstrated the skills needed to manage complex mechatronic projects. Michael’s background as a mechanical/manufacturing engineer is a strong base for improving our engineering processes and accelerating time to market.
